GUIDED BUS TOUR (Throughout the day, every 20 minutes): The Guided Bus Tour is approximately 40 minutes and is a narrated tour that covers approximately 70 percent of the San Diego Zoo while riding in a double-decker bus.
SKYFARI: The Skyfari is a historic Von Roll aerial tram ride that transports guests from the east side of the San Diego Zoo (near the main entrance) to the west side of the park and back, if desired.
THE KANGAROO BUS: The Kangaroo Bus is an express bus that picks up and drops off guests at designated locations on the grounds, for those wishing to save a few footsteps.

Who doesn’t love “star” treatment? Here’s your chance to meet many of the San Diego Zoo’s engaging and exotic animal stars the way you’ve always wanted to: up close and personal! With its Hollywood theme, the Zoo’s new Backstage Pass program lets you slip past the “velvet rope” and enjoy exclusive and interactive encounters with a variety of animals, most of which can only be seen by Backstage Pass holders like you!
During this intimate 90 minute experience; you’ll be treated like a VIP as the Zoo introduces you to furry, feathered, and scaly critter celebrities. Next, stroll over to the rhino exhibit to have an extremely close encounter of the friendly kind with two of the Zoo’s biggest personalities. Enjoy a private show featuring more of the Zoo’s amazing animal stars and their celebrity trainers. The Zoo’s own paparazzi will be snapping photos throughout the program, so be ready for your close-up! A souvenir photo is included with your Backstage Pass, and guests may purchase the rest after the program for a small fee.
